Morgan’s Bay Hotel – Eastern Cape

Entrance foyer- Chill area

So I have never been to Morgan’s Bay and this year I did not choose our Valentines getaway destination. My theme for the year is ” all things outside my comfort zone “Ive never been to Morgan’s Bay and the google pictures I’ve seen whilst searching for interesting new EC places to explore, gave nothing, zero !!! MtakaBawo ( Lord’s Child – a Xhosa expression)

Morgan’s Bay is an hours drive from East London, less than an hour if you are rushing and enjoying the scenery, is not your vibe.

I did mention I have never been to Morgan’s Bay and google pics available undersell big time, so my expectations were low, honey. I came here thinking as long as its clean, ill be good. Driving into Morgan’s Bay is ….. I have no words for how amazing the view is so look at this:

Now when we got to Morgan’s Bay Hotel, first off, I was like where is it ??? I guess I am old school and something else but when you call yourself a Hotel, I’m expecting a visible, dramtic entrance of sorts, parking ….red carpet (tounge out). Eish sadly did not take a pic of this weird entrance

This entrance gave me Hostel/Backpakers vibe and oddly enough I have never been to one.

Morgan’s Bay Hotel offers beautiful, family orientated spaces, they have a quiet room, lots of reading spaces as well as a games room. The Hotel is named after A.F Morgan, Master of the Royal Naval Ship. It offers 40 rooms and we were blessed to be allocated Suite 40, which offers 2 bedrooms, balcony with a sea facing view. Thank you booking.com !!

Indoor patio – chill area
Suite 40 – Balcony View

This was a tough review to share, I did not enjoy the level of hospitality offered. The hospitality offered was very lukewarm. I doubt I will come back but the space is beautiful and one of the many beautiful accommodation, tourist locations the Eastern cape has to offer. Facilities offered at the hotel:

  • Swimming pool
  • Resident’s lounge and bar
  • The Milkwood Spa – This is outside the hotel
  • Playground
  • Free Wifi

Food is available at the local restaurant, The Deck Restaurant and Bar. The indoor restaurant caters for breakfast only (The website states they offer 4 course dinners, this option was not made available to us, we were advised to order from the Restaurant). The Restaurant is located outside the hotel but it is a 5 minute walk. The resident lounge and bar is located inside the hotel, it offers amazing sea views, which also offers Delicous tasty tapas to guests.
